Pit Bulls and Parolees Star Opens Rescue in New Orleans

Animal lovers can party with the Pitties from the Animal Planet series Pit Bulls and Parolees as Tia Maria Torres officially opens the dogs’ new digs in New Orleans on March 31, 2012.

As fans who follow the series know, after 18 years in California new rules and regulations forced the world’s largest Pit Bull rescue to pull up stakes. But leaving The Golden State has now become a golden opportunity for Villalobos to broaden its horizons, and today the organization’s unadoptable ‘lifers’ live at The Sanctuary– a 50-acre ranch in New Mexico, while New Orleans’ 9th Ward has welcomed the nonprofit’s rescue/adoption facility.

To celebrate the site’s new start in The Big Easy, Villalobos Rescue Center is inviting dog devotees to a day of food, music, vendors and Pitties who are looking for a permanent place in the heart of someone to love.

Note: ¬†Attendee’s dogs are not allowed at the grand opening celebration.

When: March 31, 2012 from Noon – 5 p.m.

Where: 4525 North Claiborne Avenue in New Orleans, Louisiana
