A patron of Dogs Trust, the Torchwood star (who will soon be seen in Gilded Lilys, an upcoming period drama series from the creator of Grey’s Anatomy) literally gave the shirt off his back in support of the renowned dog welfare organization when he cleaned out his closet to raise funds for Dogs Trusts’ branch in Cowbridge, Wales. A recent sale of the star’s dapper duds at Dogs Trust Cowbridge’s charity shop (which the actor visited in September 2011 for its grand opening) brought in more than £2000 for the rescue, and now select items of Barrowman’s personal belongings are being auctioned off to further the fundraising effort.
A high-profile performer with impeccable taste in attire, the former Doctor Who cast member has donated several stylish suits from such fashion houses as Hugo Boss, Pierre Cardin and Oswald Boateng, and an array of A-list accessories including a pair of Gucci shoes; Ralph Lauren, Emporio Armani and Burberry ties; a dressing gown worn by the Welsh entertainer while on tour; a hooded top seen on the small screen when Barrowman starred in Desperate Housewives; trilbies signed by the star, and PJ bottoms bearing brand names like Calvin Klein and Abercrombie and Fitch. Those not looking to acquire attire can bid on a framed poster signed by the star.
The ebay auctions have varying end dates ranging from April 14th through April 20th. Items can be posted worldwide.
