She portrayed a lifeguard in the TV classic Baywatch, and although the series is now a part of pop culture’s past actress Alexandra Paul continues to save lives through her real life role as an advocate for animal rights.
A strong supporter of such organizations as Last Chance for Animals and Best Friends Animal Society, the star known for voicing her concerns for our furry, finned and feathered friends is the voice behind a sponsor message which will appear at the start and conclusion of the new PBS special, Shelter Me.
An hour-long look at how lives are enriched by shelter dogs, the Katherine Heigl-narrated project includes a depiction of Halo pet food‘s commitment to provide healthy meals to dogs in shelters. (Owned by talk show host Ellen DeGeneres, Halo Purely for Pets is the sponsor of the PBS special.) In the 30 second spot (seen in the video above) dog devotees can watch Freekibble.com founder Mimi Ausland deliver Halo Spot’s Stew to the Humane Society of Central Oregon.
