Motley Crue rose to rock icon status with songs like ‘Wild Side,’ and now band member Tommy Lee’s participation in Baltimore’s Anti-Animal Abuse Advisory Commission’s Show Your Soft Side campaign has landed the music legend a number one spot in the hearts of dog devotees.

A glam rock god known for his powerful drum licks, lately Lee has received licks of love and appreciation from the new member of his ‘Mutt’ley Crue, a Chiweenie named Bowie. Adopted by the drummer at East Valley Animal Shelter in March 2012, the Rover and his rockin’ Dad are now helping to shine a spotlight on the plight of dogs and cats who suffer abuse at the hands of misguided adolescents.

Lee is the latest animal-loving luminary to pose for Baltimore’s Anti-Animal Abuse Advisory Commission’s portraits of compassion. Others include Baltimore area sports stars Adam Jones of the Baltimore Orioles, NFL great Qadry Ismail, and MMA fighter John Rallo, a former bodyguard for the famous drummer who now uses his celebrity status to protect our pals with paws.
