After a long and fulfilling life, tail-wagging animal welfare advocate/Guinness Book of World Records holder Lucky Diamond crossed the threshold of Rainbow Bridge on June 5, 2012, but her legacy of love will live on through the work of her human Mom (Animal Fair founder Wendy Diamond) and the former foster Fido who befriended her in her final days.

Before her passing from canine cancer, little Lucky was busy planning for her impending ‘pup’tials to benefit a paws cause, and the paparazzi-loving pup would be happy to know that the senior Spot who is helping her pet parent’s heart to heal will be going walkies down the aisle in her honor.

Baby Hope, a Coton de Tulear fostered by Wendy Diamond at the time of Lucky’s death, is now an official part of the Diamond family, and on July 12, 2012 the canine will enjoy a divine time at her doggie I do’s.

Billed The Fairy’Tail’ Wedding of the Century, the ceremony– which may earn a place in the Guinness Book of World Records as The Most Expensive Wedding for an Animal– will take place at the Jumeirah Essex House on Central Park South, which will be bedecked with botanical beauty by Flroralia Decorators, whose clients include Kathy Hilton, Sony Music, USA Films and former President Bill Clinton. The Hank Lane Orchestra and jazz musician Dominick Farinacci will provide the soundtrack to the Spot-centric ceremony, and after the pup’s declare their dogged devotion family and friends will enjoy a repast at a reception catered by Chef Nate and sushi Chef James Chung.

Guests who received an invitation designed by Fancy That will watch the barking bride as she makes her grand entrance in a couture canine creation by Henry and Michelle Roth, whose fashionable frocks have appeared in Vogue and Cosmo Bride Online as well as on The Today Show and 60 Minutes.

A presentation with a higher purpose, proceeds from the wedding will benefit The Humane Society of New York, and your own philanthropic Fido can take part in the event by winning a contest to be Baby Hope Diamond’s well-grrroomed groom.

To enter your pet in the contest, just ‘like’ Wendy Diamond Animal Fair on Facebook, post a photo of your pet’s name with a caption, breed, where you found your canine companion and why Baby Hope Diamond should marry your pet on the page. Wendy Diamond is searching for the perfect pet to carry on Lucky’s legacy of animal adoption and rescue, and the more philanthropic and heartwarming your pet’s story is – the more Likes you’ll receive for your “Likeable Story!” The rules are all qualified LIKES must be fans of the Wendy and Lucky Diamond Facebook page. The 10 most (liked) eligible pets will be picked as final contenders, and the nine runner ups will be invited to the wedding as Animal Fair’s guests. The nine runner ups will be offered to be flower dogs and possibly the ring bearer! The decision will be announced on Animal Fair and on Facebook June 28, 2012.

(Winners must provide for their own transportation. Accommodations are donated by the Jumeirah Essex House Hotel. July 12, 2012 is the wedding date at the pet-friendly Jumeirah Essex House Hotel. The winner will be given a wedding gift to keep from Animal Fair valued at $2,000.00.)
