Scooby-Doo, where are you? On September 29th the answer will be Washington, D.C. as the sleuthing Spot joins Cesar Millan at the Second Annual National Family Pack Walk.

What began as a regional event in Los Angeles in 2011 has grown to include a series of local Pack Walks around the country between September 24 – 30, 2012, led by North Shore Animal League America national shelter partners and Mutt-i-grees Curriculum schools. The movement culminates in Washington D.C. with the large-scale National Family Pack Walk taking place on the National Mall.

“The Pack Walk is a movement towards reconnecting ourselves with our dogs and our community. By stepping up as a pack leader, it’s more than just walking a dog,” said Millan. “We need to be walking in one direction, toward a common outcome, helping one another. I want this to be a symbolic event for the community as a goal towards building healthy relationships with their dogs and each other.”

On September 29th, pet parents and their pups are invited to take part in a 1.5-mile canine constitutional around the National Mall, followed by an afternoon of Scooby-themed activities. A Fido-centric, interactive environment for families and dog enthusiasts, the national event as well as all local events will be open to the public.

A happening with heart, the day of dogged devotion will help to make great strides toward the creation of a brighter tomorrow for our tail-wagging chums by raising funds to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home shelter dogs through the efforts of The Millan Foundation.
