The search for the perfect well-groomed grrroom complete, Wendy Diamond– the founder of Animal Fair magazine– has announced that wedding bells will chime on July 12th for her newly adopted canine companion and a romantic Rover named Chilly, one of the many suitor Spots (and one cat!) who entered a contest to win the pooch’s paw in ‘mutt’rimony to benefit a paws cause.
A fitting fiance for barking bride-to-be Baby Hope Diamond (a senior Coton de Tulear who will go walkies down the aisle in honor of Lucky Diamond, the paparazzi-loving, Guinness Book of World Records-holding Maltese who lost her battle with canine cancer in June), Chilly is doggedly devoted to animal welfare. A rescue dog from B.A.R.K., Chilly helps his human family at a hospital which provides low cost advanced surgery and dental care for pets in danger of euthanasia.
On July 12th Baby Hope and Chilly’s ‘pup’tials will earn a place in the Guinness Book of World Records as The Most Expensive Wedding for Animals. Dylan Lauren, Alexa Joel and Countess Luann (The Real Housewives of New York City) will be among the guests to gather at the Jumeirah Essex House on Central Park South in New York City for a doggie I do that will include the ceremony skills of noted New York wedding planner Harriet Rose Katz of Gourmet Advisory; lighting by Bentley Meeker, whose illuminations set the mood for Chelsea Clinton’s wedding; music by the Hank Lane Orchestra, who has provided entertainment for the American Ballet Theater’s Spring Gala; and tail-wagging wedding wear by designers Henry and Michele Roth.
A happening with heart, the event will benefit The Humane Society of New York.
