Co-stars on the small screen and in their personal lives, husband and wife actors Paul Wesley and Torrey DeVitto from the hit CW series The Vampire Diaries will take on the roles of co-hosts at a fashion show for a paws cause.
Following in the footsteps of compassionate co-stars Malese Jow, who joined with Kids Against Animal Cruelty founder Lou Wegner for a PSA promoting the option of shelter adoption; Nina Dobrev, who helped the search to find forever homes for two orphan kittens in Sofia, Bulgaria, and Ian Somerhalder, whose Ian Somerhalder Foundation is in the process of developing an ISF Sanctuary for animals who have been abused, neglected and misunderstood, the actors who bring Stefan Salvatore and Dr. Meredith Fell to life will do their part to help save the lives of both wildlife and companion animals as they shine a spotlight on cruelty-free fashions at The Humane Society of the United States’ first annual H-Couture fashion show.
According to The Humane Society of the United States, million of dogs and cats are killed annually in Asia for fur products sold around the globe, or die in traps set for other animals whose fur is in demand.
Speaking about the upcoming event Torrey DeVitto stated: “Fashion should be fun, and I don’t see how wearing animal fur can be anything other than cruel and unnecessary,” while Wesley adds, “We both support events that promote compassion for animals.”
The stylish soiree will feature socially-conscious couture created by the following designers:
Tickets to the trend-setting event range from $200 to $600 and can be purchased online. H-Couture 2012 will raise funds for The Humane Society of the United States’ Fur-Free campaign and Hollywood Outreach program.
