Designer Marc Bouwer Adopts Rescue Puppy

Trends for fashion’s fall and spring collections may come and go, but designer to the stars Marc Bouwer has found a friend for all seasons in his rescue fur baby.

Knowing that compassion is always in fashion, the gown guru– who has created award season attire for such luminaries as Angelina Jolie, Charlize Theron and Oprah– turned to North Shore Animal League America to find his four-pawed pal after his Yorkshire Terrier Goliath crossed Rainbow Bridge. Thanks to the world’s largest no-kill animal rescue and adoption organization Bouwer fell in love with Tallulah, a little Maltese who was one of a litter of pups from a mother who had been forced into life as a puppy mill breeding dog.

Today Tallulah is a fashion forward Fido who has been granted the title of “head greeter” in her designer Dad’s showroom, while her mother Ashley and her sister Lily now have a happy home with Bouwer’s business partner Frank Margolia and his parents.

Tweeting his thanks to North Shore Animal League America, Bouwer stated “so appreciate all wonderful folk @AnimalLeague please #adopt #rescue a pet the older dogs+cats really need a rescue! Be a hero!”

A cruelty free fashion designer, on September 22nd Marc Bouwer’s creations will hit the runway in support of The Humane Society of the United States’ Fur-Free campaign and Hollywood Outreach program at H-Couture 2012, hosted by actor Paul Wesley, star of The Vampire Diaries.
