“I’m so excited to be putting together our 2nd Rock A Bully event to raise funds for 3 local rescue groups who welcome the Pit Bull type breeds with open arms” explained event organizer Mia Bissette. “But we also want to educate people about how misunderstood and mistreated this breed is. We want to get across the importance of adoption instead of breeding – and of course, remind everyone about the importance of spaying and neutering!”
Making a ‘Pit’ stop on his multi-city tour, Animal Planet personality Shorty Rossi of Pit Boss fame and his canine companion Hercules will make a return appearance at the Rock-A-Bully ‘paw’ty to continue his crusade to educate the public about all of the positive qualities of dogs who have been badgered by an undeserved bad rap.
“Shorty is such a tremendous advocate for the pitties. He’s been on the road constantly in this last year fighting BSL and the undeserved reputation that these dogs have” Bissette said. “Having Shorty back for a 2nd time makes this event very special. His presence helps us to educate more people about the plight facing these very innocent dogs.”
“Basically, this is going to be a way for people to have a lot of fun, learn more about pit bulls and raise money to help them have the lives they deserve,” Bissette said. “We’re so excited to have Shorty Rossi coming; he has a lot of fans across the country, and I know a lot of people will be happy to come out and meet their pit bull hero!”
Amping up interest in the paws cause, the following bands will rock for the Rovers:
Kick Back DFW
As musical acts raise the roof, auctions and raffles will raise funds for three animal rescues. Attendees will have the chance to bid on two Cowboys vs. Redskins tickets for the Thanksgiving Day game, including access to the Miller Lite Club and a special parking pass; a World Series baseball autographed by Mike Napoli; an Ibanez guitar; a 16GB iPad2 with WIFI; a pet photo shoot with Sylvia Elzafon and more.
Rock-A-Bully 2 is a family-and-Fido-friendly event. Dogs must be on leashes, vaccinated and be spayed/neutered.
The Big D bash will benefit Animal Rescue of Texas, Dog Star Pit Bull Rescue and DFW Rescue Me.
