Proving that compassion never goes out of style, on November 8th fans of Fidos, fashion, philanthropy and famous faces will be greeted by a Doggie Guard of Honour as they gather at Battersea Evolution in London for Battersea Dogs and Cats Home’s 4th annual Collars and Coats Gala Ball, where trend-setting Spots from the charity will step out into the spotlight in styles created by some of the top dogs in the world of women’s and men’s wear.
Twenty doggedly devoted designers have created canine couture for the event:
Ben De Lisi
All of the styles seen on stage will be auctioned off to benefit Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, which is celebrating its 152nd year of providing comfort and care for orphan companion animals.
The evening will be co-hosted by Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden and comic/TV presenter Paul O’Grady, who recently became a proud pet parent to a Battersea pup after shining a spotlight on the organization in the special ITV1 series Paul O’Grady: For the Love of Dogs.
Two of fashion’s finest– journalist/stylist Hilary Alexander and David Gandy (seen in the photo above), a supermodel who has taken on the role of Battersea Dogs and Cats Home’s first ambassador, will co-present the doggie designer duds seen on the dogwalk, while Grammy Award-nominated jazz artist Jamie Cullum will provide the soundtrack to the soiree.
