Hero Dog Awards Unleashed Nov. 8 on The Hallmark Channel

The holiday season is underway, and during this time of giving thanks television viewers will be grateful for the efforts of courageous canines when they tune in to the second annual Hero Dog Awards, which will be unleashed on The Hallmark Channel on November 8th.

Hosted by actress/animal advocate Kristin Chenoweth at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in October, the ceremony will salute Spots who were chosen by both the public and a panel of high-profile dog devotees as the top dog in the following categories: Search and Rescue, Military, Service, Therapy, Law Enforcement and Arson, Hearing, Guide and Emerging Hero.

Along with the heart-tugging acceptances by the deserving dogs and their guardians, the show will also feature some rib-tickling comedy sketches with appearances by Chelsea Handler, Betty White (who will also receive an award for her decades of dedication to paws causes) and Mad Men‘s Ben Feldman; a performance by Jewel, and lots of celebrity spotting as Denise Richards, Michael Vartan, Pauley Perrette, Joey Lawrence, Naomi Judd, Miranda Lambert, Whoopi Goldberg and more animal-loving luminaries take the stage.

The Hero Dog Awards will air on The Hallmark Channel on November 8th at 8 p.m. ET.
