Sharing wisdom collected from 20 years in the world of animal welfare, Animal Planet personality Tia Torres from the hit series Pit Bulls & Parolees will make a ‘Pit’ stop in Cincinnati, Ohio on December 9th for The ‘P’ Word Tour– a one day, two-part workshop which reaches out to change people’s misconceptions of canines who have been dogged by prejudice and offer an unflinching look at Pit Bull rescue.

Shining a spotlight on every subject from breed identification to the battle against BSL (Breed Specific Legislation), Tia Torres– who is the director of Villalobos Rescue Center, the nation’s largest Pit Bull rescue– will present a frank introduction to Pit Bulls in ‘Pit Bull 101.’

Dog devotees who want to follow in Tia’s footsteps can learn about work which often brings more heartache than happiness during ‘Rescue Me,’ an in-depth discussion of the harsh realities of running a Pit Bull rescue, with topics ranging from funding needed to help the dogs to the legal issues that come with the territory of animal rescue.

The fee for each workshop is $75, or $100 for attending both ‘Pit Bull 101′ and ‘Rescue Me’. Animal rescue volunteers, animal shelter employees and people with a passion for helping Pitties in groups of five or more who sign up at the same time for the entire day are eligible for another discount.

When: December 9, 2012 with ‘Pit Bull 101′ taking place from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. and ‘Rescue Me’ taking place from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m.

Where: Cincinnati, Ohio (The exact location will be given upon sign up)
