Following the success of the seven-part series Paul O’Grady: For the Love of Dogs, the resident Rovers at Battersea Dogs and Cats Home will bring a bit of tail-wagging Christmas cheer and touch the hearts of millions of households in a new one-hour special.
Once again Paul O’Grady will take viewers to the renowned animal welfare charity, where this time the pup-loving TV personality will cook a Christmas lunch for the canines, answer phones, give gifts and showcase some of the Spots who are hoping that their holiday wish to find a forever home comes true this year, such as Cracker, a terrier with a bad hip; NuNu, a St. Bernard who only understands Chinese; Willow, a former racing greyhound who now is unable to make it upstairs; and Colleen, a husky who treats her toys like puppies following a phantom pregnancy.
Along with shining a spotlight on Battersea Dogs and Cats Home’s adorable adoptables on his ITV1 series, in 2012 Paul O’Grady also joined supermodel David Gandy as a celebrity ambassador for the charity; helped to raise funds for the organization at BGC Partners Charity Day; co-hosted Battersea’s 4th annual Collars and Coats Gala Ball; welcomed Camilla, The Duchess of Cornwall and her two rescue dogs to the charity when she paid a return visit to the site which had offered both of her Jack Russell Terriers a new lease on life; and welcomed Eddie, a Chihuahua mix puppy from Battersea into his heart and home.
Paul O’Grady: For the Love of Dogs at Christmas will air Christmas Day at 6 p.m. on ITV1.
