Offering an assist to animals in need, former Detroit Red Wing Kirk Maltby warmed the hearts of dog devotees by stopping by the Michigan Humane Society one recent cold winter’s day to show his support for a paws casue.
Pitching in to help pets who have to face the frigid temperatures outdoors, the sports star– along with Ken Kal, the play-by-play commentator for the Detroit Red Wings– bagged straw which will be used to insulate dog houses and loaded donated dog and cat food for the non-profit’s free pet food bank during the organization’s “Fill the Truck” event.
