Letting the good times role in his own mini-float, a high-profile Pittie seen on a popular Animal Planet series will demonstrate his dogged devotion to both a rescue organization and The Big Easy as he takes part in the Mystic Krewe of Mardi Paws Parade.

Rhino, who fans of Fidos will recognize from Pit Bulls & Parolees, will proudly represent Villalobos Rescue Center in a New Orleans promenade of costume-clad canines on February 17th.

The Times-Picayune reports that the popular Pittie– who is now the official mascot for the VooDoo Arena football league– will be joined by team players, the VooDoo Dolls dance troupe and members of Villalobos Rescue Center.

Pet parents can register their dud-wearing dog for the event, which this year celebrates the theme “Mardi Paws gets DOGGONE Wet.”

A happening with heart, registration proceeds benefit Have a Heart Thru Art, while food booths benefit both Scott’s Wish (which helps those suffering from leukemia and other illnesses) and the St. Tammany Spay and Neuter Group.

When: February 17, 2013 starting at 2 p.m. (Rain date is February 24th)

Where: Mandeville Lakefront in Mandeville, Louisiana
