Uggie, Elaine Hendrix Shine Spotlight on Pet Adoption at Rose Parade

The theme of the recent 124th Rose Parade was “Oh! The Places You’ll Go,” and with a little luck the the adorable adoptables seen on one of the floats will find a place in the hearts and homes of forever pet parents.

On New Year’s Day a few lucky dogs from L.A. Animal Services hopped aboard the Beverly Hills Pet Care Foundation’s float “Follow the Stars- Adopt a Pet” for a ride which took them not only along Pasadena’s parade route, but also on a path to a brighter tomorrow, as Pet Care Foundation sponsored an adoption event for animal shelters and rescue groups following the event.

Riding on the floating floral park scene with the pups on parade were Pet Care Foundation volunteers and two celebrities who used their star wattage to shine a spotlight on the need to heed the importance of shelter/rescue adoption– Uggie from the Academy Award-winning movie The Artist (along with his trainer/doting Dad Omar von Muller) and actress/animal advocate Elaine Hendrix (seen on the right with adoptable dog Mr. Bojangles), who is a founding volunteer with Pet Care Foundation and a founding officer at Animal Rescue Corps.
