More than 3,000 homeless dogs who were facing their fate in Georgia shelters have many happy years ahead thanks to a rescue organization which recently celebrated its one-year anniversary with a sold-out, star-studded soiree.

Held at the THOM Bar in New York City, the gathering of glitterati was a show of support for Animal AID USA, which was founded in January 2012 by former Karen Talbot and reality TV personality/Royal Treatment pet care products president Prince Lorenzo Borghese.

Animal Aid USA volunteers conduct monthly caravans from New Jersey to Georgia to rescue dogs scheduled to be euthanized, transporting the canines now in their care to Miracle Ranch in Long County, Georgia, which serves as a temporary transfer station and quarantine facility until the dogs are placed in foster homes and receiving no-kill rescues until each finds a forever home.

Along with rescue, Animal Aid USA also educates the public about the horrors of gas chamber euthanasia and organizes and co-sponsors free and low-cost animal spaying and neutering programs to cease the cycle of pet overpopulation.

“It was an amazing event, and very encouraging to receive all the support from so many celebrities and others who deeply to care about the welfare of shelter animals,” Borghese says. “We are especially grateful to Frank Leone and Eric Trump for their very generous donations, which will go toward saving more animals and helping us finish building Miracle Ranch.”
