Katherine Heigl Shines Spotlight on Adoptable Puppies

It’s been over a decade since she starred as alien Isabel Evans on the sci-fi series Roswell, but actress Katherine Heigl is still out of this world in the eyes of her canine-loving fans for her dogged devotion to animals in need.

Dropping by The Rachael Ray Show, the actress shared the spotlight with some adorable adoptables from North Shore Animal League America. Among the pups who had the chance to lap up the limelight alongside the A-list animal advocates was Max, an 8- to 10-week old yellow Lab mix; Ella, a 10- to 12 week-old terrier/collie, and Hallie, an 8 to 10-week-old Collie mix who North Shore happily reports has landed a starring role in a loving forever home.

During her segment the star of the upcoming comedy The Big Wedding talked about life in Utah with her seven dogs as well as the recently launched line of Just One pet products, which benefits The Jason Debus Heigl Foundation‘s ongoing efforts to “help to spay and neuter pets, place shelter animals in loving homes and help end the euthanizing of 10,000 companion animals a day.” Showing her support for the paws cause, Rachael Ray offered a $75,000 donation from Rachael’s Rescue and Nutrish.
