Reveling Rovers recently “laissez les bon temps roulez” with some help from a Hollywood star at the 20th Annual Beggin’® Pet Parade in the  Soulard neighborhood of St. Louis, Missouri.

Thousands of dogs in duds and their human families followed The Following‘s Kevin Bacon and his brother Michael as they took on the roles of grand marshals at the event, which achieved Guinness Book of World Records™-holding status in 2012 for “Most Dogs in Costumed Attire.”

During the annual coronation costume contest ceremony, bacon–inspired trophies and Purina® Beggin’ Strips® were awarded for the best costumes. The parade’s King was a Bulldog named Mojo; and Queen was a Chihuahua-mix named Pandora. The best group costume was awarded the title of Most Royal Subjects, and went to a Cocker Spaniel named Airedale and Welsh Terriers Rozi Z, Zizi Z and Magi Z.

After the promenade of pups, party animals cut Footloose at a tail-wagging tail gate party featuring a performance by The Bacon Brothers.

A happening with heart, the Mardi Gras-themed event raised funds for Open Door Animal Sanctuary, an animal rescue and adoption organization in St. Louis which is funded entirely from donations.
