German Shepherd Dog Rescue Honored at Wetnose Animal Rescue Awards

Share with fellow dog lovers!

DogTipper continues our look at The Burgess/Wetnose Animal Rescue Awards, an annual presentation which celebrates small and medium-sized rescue organizations.

She’s known for belting out hits like “I Wanna Have Some Fun” and “Touch Me,” but on March 11th Samantha Fox was singing the praises of a rescue that helps a breed in need.

The 80s pop culture icon, who presented Caring for Cats with the title of Best Cat Rescue Centre at the 2012 Burgess/ Wetnose Animal Rescue Awards, joined TV presenters Lizzie Cundy and Helen Chamberlain (with her dog, Spud) in welcoming German Shepherd Dog Rescue on to the stage at London’s Jumeirah Carlton Tower Hotel to receive the award for Best Breed Rescue Centre.

Helping German Shepherds throughout the UK, diligent volunteers find forever families for more than 500 dogs each year and place homeless canines in their care in foster homes or commercial boarding kennels as they work toward the day when the charity has a facility of its own.
