Before the New York Mets go to bat for the dogs and cats at North Shore Animal League America at Bark in the Park, sports lovers and their Spots can cheer for lacrosse teams that have made helping homeless pets their goal.

On March 17th Citi Field will host the inaugural Metropolitan Lacrosse Classic-- a chance for pups and their pet parents to cheer for their favorite team as Holy Cross takes on Navy and Michigan faces Colgate.

Fidos will be admitted for free in the Pepsi Porch area, while a portion of each $25 human ticket benefits the world’s largest no-kill animal rescue and adoption organization.

Attending tail-waggers must be on a leash (not in excess of 4 – 6 feet) at all times and must be healthy and fully vaccinated.

When: March 17, 2013 (Holy Cross vs. Navy at noon and Michigan vs. Colgate at 3:00 p.m.)

Where: Citi Field in Flushing, New York
