Switched at Birth Star Ryan Lane To Attend Dogs for the Deaf’s Dog Walk

Actor Ryan Lane, who stars as Travis on the popular ABC Family series Switched at Birth, will step into the role of co-Grand Marshal with his dog, Zero, at an upcoming fundraiser that will take steps toward creating a brighter future and for both people and pets.

On June 1st the 22nd annual Dogs for the Deaf Dog Walk will take place in Jacksonville, Oregon. Strollers and their Spots will follow the ‘Yellow Brick Road’ in a Wizard of Oz-themed constitutional with a twist.

Throughout the dog walk, participants will promenade into participating Jacksonville businesses to gather playing cards. At the end of the ‘Poker Walk’ the person with the best poker hand wins a prize.

The day of play will also include a Wizard of Oz costume contest, dog demonstrations, exhibits, lunch and much more!

A happening with a heart, the event will raise both awareness of and funds for Dogs for the Deaf, a non-profit organization which offers dogs from shelters and humane societies new leases on life as service dogs.

When: June 1, 2013 from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.
