Zooey Deschanel Adopts Two Rescue Dogs from The Bill Foundation

Following in the footsteps of such doggedly devoted friends of Fidos as Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland and Parks and Recreation cast member Aubrey Plaza, actress Zooey Deschanel recently paid a visit to The Bill Foundation in her search for puppy love.

On March 13th the star of the hit Fox series New Girl introduced her two new tail-wagging chums Zelda and Dot to fans via Twitter:

 

Having rescued more than 2,000 dogs from area shelters and the streets since its founding in 2000, approximately 60 dogs are cared for by the Los Angeles-based non-profit at any given time, each with their own story to tell. Here’s the tale of Tessa, a blind dog –once unable to walk– who is now making great strides toward her recovery and the day when she’ll find a forever home thanks to The Bill Foundation.
