St. Louis Blues Players Take Part in Pooch Smooch and Kitty Kiss Event

Puckering up for a paws cause, two NHL stars and their wives gave some puppy love to every resident Rover and purring occupant at two no-kill facilities when they embarked on Adopt-a-Pet’s first annual Pooch Smooch and Kitty Kiss event.

St. Louis Blues captain David Backes–who highlights homeless animals at Five Acres Animal Shelter through his Backes’ Buddies program– and defenseman Barret Jackman, who supports Stray Rescue of St. Louis, paid a visit to both organizations during the canine/cat kiss-a-thon to shine a spotlight on just how lovable shelter pets are.

Along with sweet kisses from the sports stars, dogs and cats also received treats from Purina Pet Care.
