Baseball buffs can take their barking buddies out to the old ball game and help a good cause in the process as the Portland Sea Dogs take on the Reading Fighting Phils at the seventh annual Bark in the Park, a Planet Dog Foundation fundraiser.
Every tail-wagging attendee will receive a free Planet Dog Orbee-Tuff Baseball chew toy and prior to the first pitch can promenade alongside their person in the on-field parade with the team’s mascot, Slugger.
Pet parents and their pups will be seated in the 3rd base bleacher section with all access to the “birthday section” behind the bleachers. The day of play will include a performance by Mike Piazza and his Frisbee-catching four-pawed pals; games for families and their Fidos; dog treats; a canine watering station; wading pool; grassy relief area and a dog valet to care for canines while people visit the concessions.
A happening with heart, proceeds will benefit the Therapy Dog Program at Maine Medical Center.
