On Wednesday night, we have a very special episode of our Dog Travel Experts radio show. We’ll be talking with Gil, a man who travels with his guide dog Satch to teach people around the world how to use a handheld GPS device for blind people. Satch is Gil’s third service dog; he flew over 100,000 miles with his previous service dog Evie, and today Gil and Satch travel around the world by all modes of public transportation.
Tracie and Paris will be talking with Gil about his experiences, challenges, and tips for traveling with a service dog.
We’d also love to hear YOUR experiences traveling with a service dog or your questions for Gil about traveling with his dog; call 888-627-6008 during the show to be on air! Dog Travel Experts airs from 8-9pm ET. You can listen on RadioPetLady.com.

Immediately after Dog Travel Experts on The Expert Vet, Dr. Donna and Tracie discuss heartworm disease in detail. They talk about the pros and cons of the different treatment options should a dog develop heartworm disease. Special attention was given to dogs who have no signs of heartworm disease and why a conservative approach is not necessarily best. More on cats and heartworm next week!
