Taking their cue from a classic tune, animal lovers will say “Chicago is My Kind of Town” when they head to the Windy City Pet Expo– a day devoted to all our furry, finned and fine-feathered friends in the Chicago suburb of Villa Park.

Celebrity Spotting

  • Stars of the Animal Planet series Pit Boss, Shorty Rossi and his canine companion Hercules will make a ‘Pit’ stop at the expo to meet fans and talk about the ongoing need to help canines who have been dogged by prejudice.
  • Doggedly devoted to the welfare of our tail-wagging chums for the past two decades, celebrity dog trainer Harrison Forbes will host a pet Q&A session.

Fans of Fidos will be blown away by all of The Windy City Pet Expo’s activities:

  • Potential pet parents can learn How to Choose the Perfect Pooch! during a lecture from Loving Heart Animal Shelter.
  • Relive childhood memories with your Rover with a pet/guardian version of Musical Chairs.
  • Clever canines can step on stage for a chance to be dubbed the top dog in the Animals Got Talent! competition.
  • Find out ways to save your Spot during a CPR and First Aid demonstration.
  • Join a salute to Military Working Dogs.
  • Watch as Spots show off their skills and see if your tail-wagging chum wants to take part in a Rally Demonstration, with the handler reading, executing and following the signs through an agility course in the least amount of time.
  • Be sure to sniff out the K9 Nose Work Demonstration.
  • Sing for your Spot’s supper during the Dog Karaoke Competition, with the winner receiving a year’s supply of Natural Balance Dog Food.
  • Pet parents can help their four-pawed pal into doggie duds for the Pet Costume Contest.
  • Rachel Phelps from PrestonSpeaks.comwill discuss ways to save bucks while traveling with your barking buddy.
  • Watch as talented tail-waggers from a K9 Drill Team move their feet (…er, paws) to the beat during choreographed routines.
  • Cheer for the skilled Spots who will show off their doggie dexterity in an agility demonstration, which will be followed by a Q&A session and the chance for one fortunate Fido from the crowd to try out the course.
  • Discounted vaccinations, microchipping and heartworm and flea preventatives.
  • Free nail trims for Fidos.
