His illustrations of a little girl who lives in New York City’s Plaza Hotel have enchanted children for generations, and now the artist whose pen-and-ink pictures brought Eloise to life is helping to draw attention to dogs and cats who want to find forever families.
Hilary Knight is the creator of the poster and Playbill cover promoting Broadway Barks 15, a star-studded adopt-a-thon taking place July 13th in Shubert Alley. The illustrator and Broadway Barks co-founder Bernadette Peters will be signing copies for animal-loving autograph hounds from noon – 2 p.m., with all of the proceeds benefiting Broadway Barks.
From 3:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m., fans of Fidos, felines and famous faces can watch stage stars take on supporting roles as they show off adorable adoptables from New York City shelters and rescue organization in the hope that they might land starring roles in the life of a loving pet parent.
