She climbed to the top of the UK charts four times during her years as a member of the Britpop band S Club 7, and now singer Tina Barrett holds a top spot in the hearts of animal lovers as she becomes a member of a rescue organization.
The entertainer has been named a youth ambassador for Jemima’s Trust Animal Trust and Rescue, a charity in South Wales which offers comfort and care for sick, injured or unwanted animals and help find forever homes for dogs, cats, rabbits, ferrets, mice and reptiles. Other stars who have shown their support for the organization by becoming patrons include Downton Abbey‘s Lesley Nicol, Samantha Fox and Right Said Fred.

Having just stepped into her new role, Tina Barrett will soon step on stage to help the paws cause by performing alongside fellow youth ambassador James Michael– a finalist in 2011′s UK X Factor– at a family-oriented fundraising show for Jemima’s Place featuring the ABBA tribute band Sensation. Tickets for the event, which will take place at Bridgend Sony Theatre on July 27th, range from £7 to £30.
