Glee star Jane Lynch will happily take on a supporting role at the upcoming L.A. stop of the Bark Breakfast Tour as she shines a spotlight on a Lab named Bravo. Once a shelter dog, thanks to K9s for Warriors today Bravo has a starring role in the life of Rob, a former Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps.
Taking place at the Omni Hotel in Los Angeles as part of bestselling author/AnimalFair.com founder Wendy Diamond’s Bark Business Tour for her new book, How To Train Your Boss to Roll Over (which is dedicated to those who have defended our freedom), animal lovers can join Diamond, Lynch, actor Garret Dillahunt from the FOX series Raising Hope, Jeanie Buss (executive for the L.A. Lakers) and retired NBA coach Phil Jackson for a patriotic breakfast which will offer both a tasty meal and sustenance for the soul as it helps the author’s efforts to raise a total of at least $150,000 for K9s for Warriors over the course of the 10-city tour. (The upcoming L.A. event has so far raised enough money for a Los Angeles vet with PTSD to apply and receive a service dog through the K9s for Warriors program. In all, the tour has already raised more than $135,000–enough funds for 13 dogs to be paired with 13 vets.)
Founded by Shari Duval (the wife of golfer Bobby Duval), K9s for Warriors is a Florida-based non-profit which saves the lives of shelter dogs and offers them a new lease on life as service canines for veterans who are struggling with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) or traumatic brain injury.
When: October 5, 2013, starting at 10 a.m.
Where: Omni Hotel at 251 South Olive Street in Los Angeles, California
