Thanks to a NHL star who is always willing to give an assist to dogs who are often unjustly hounded by people’s prejudice, the start of a new year will mark the start of a brighter tomorrow for Pit Bulls.
On January 24th fans of sports and Spots can sip spirits tended by members of the Chicago Blackhawks, nibble on tasty treats, place bids on unique auction items and help the Bryan & Amanda Bickell Foundation in the process.
Founded by the A-list athlete and his wife, the Bryan & Amanda Bickell Foundation will help both people and pets in need through the Chicago Loves Pits campaign; the Paws for Strength therapy dogs program, which helps the hearts of abused children heal with assistance from Pit Bulls who have known their pain; Bick’s Pits– which highlights adorable adoptables– and the soon-to-be formed Bullies Against Bullying program.
When: January 24, 2014 from 7 p.m. – 10 p.m.
Where: Paris Club at 59 West Hubbard Street in Chicago, Illinois

Fans who can’t make it to the swank soiree can still show their support for the paws cause when the Bryan & Amanda Foundation unleashes its 2014 calendar. Getting in the game to help their teammate’s organization, Andrew Shaw, Brandon Bollig and Corey “Crow” Crawford are just a few of the players on the Stanley Cup-winning team who posed for the camera with a photogenic Fido.
While the calendar is not yet available, the following video offers a behind the scenes look at the Fido-centric photo shoot:
