Actress Abbie Cornish Finds Home for Rescue Puppy

41c1u1MKZfLAustralian actress Abbie Cornish, who will soon be seen on the silver screen in a remake of the sci-fi hit RoboCop, has taken on the real life role of an aunt to a rescue puppy.

The Hollywood Reporter recently relayed the news that the star spotted a nine-week-old Shepherd mix among the media as she promoted the new Discovery Channel mini-series Klondike at the TCA Press Tour in Pasadena, California. Captivated by the cuddly canine, whose appearance at the event drew attention to Animal Planet’s upcoming Puppy Bowl X, Cornish helped the tiny tail-wagger land a starring role in the heart and home of her brother Hayden and his fiancee.

Now known as Ivy, the puppy is just one of the many companion animals who are enjoying lives with loving forever families thanks to Found Animals’ Adopt & Shop‘s pet adoption center in Lakewood, California.

The actress took to Instagram to share snapshots of the new four-legged member in her family with fans:
