Leo, a brindle Boxer mix who can sympathize with her present physical problem, is helping the athlete’s heart to heal after the disappointment of pulling out of the upcoming games due to a knee injury.
Taking to Instagram to introduce fans to her new four-legged friend, Vonn stated:
I adopted Leo today from an animal shelter and he has cheered me up so much! He was hit by a car and has a bad knee. Maybe we can do rehab together! #meantforeachother #bumkneebuddies

The New York Daily News reports that the 2010 Olympic gold medalist found her canine companion thanks to Furry Friends Adoption and Clinic, a no-kill shelter in Jupiter, Florida which offers comfort and care to ill, injured, abused or abandoned animals at its full service veterinary hospital, and the chance to find a forever home through its adoption program.
