Olympian Lindsey Jacobellis To Adopt Dog from Sochi

BgsTgjoIQAAuleaShe may not have won a medal in the 2014 Olympic winter games, but US snowboard cross racer Lindsey Jacobellis has definitely won the admiration of animal lovers for choosing to adopt a stray dog from Sochi.

Following in the footsteps of fellow Olympian Gus Kenworthy, who is in the process of bringing four Sochi puppies and their mother back to the US, the 2006 Olympic silver medalist is also using her star wattage to shine a spotlight on the need to help dogs who have been in danger of losing their lives due to the overpopulation of strays in the vicinity of the Olympic venues.

The sports star happily struck a pose with her pup for a photo taken by Olympic cross country skier Holly Brooks:

  • I wish there are more people with a good heart like Lindsey Jacobellis who would be willing to adopt stray dogs from Sochi and take them home to love and care for them.
