Sophia Bush Shines a Spotlight on Trio Animal Foundation

Share with fellow dog lovers!

Screen Shot 2014-02-15 at 1.16.48 PMActress Sophia Bush, who portrays a police detective who saves the lives of people in danger on the NBC drama series Chicago PD, recently helped to shine a spotlight on the life-saving work of a Chicago non-profit organization.

In celebration of Barefoot Wines Soles of the Year, a program which recognizes the efforts of those with a passion for compassion, the former One Tree Hill star and multi-pet parent happily volunteered at Lincoln Park’s Unleashed dog daycare and boarding facility with one of the 2014 honorees, Sue Naiden– the founder of Trio Animal Foundation.

Established in 2009, Naiden’s muse for her mission was Trio, her three-legged Pit Bull who not only survived, but thrived, after enduring the horror of life as a bait dog when she was just a pup. Trio Animal Foundation provides financial assistance for the medical needs of homeless pets who are being cared for by animal shelters, rescue organizations and individuals. To date, more than 2,000 homeless animals have received the medical care they required thanks to the kind-hearted canine’s legacy of love.
