AHL Star David Leggio Helps Pit Bull Who Needs a Home

LeggioThe goalie for the Hershey Bears recently stepped off the ice rink and in front of a camera to help a Pit Bull who his hoping to obtain his goal of finding a forever home.

Teaming up with team mate Tyson Strachan’s organization Strachan Strays, David Leggio of  the Hershey Bears helped to shine a spotlight on Critter, a Rover who has rebounded from a past marred by neglect thanks to the TLC he’s received at the foster home of a volunteer for Pitties. Love. Peace., a non-profit in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania which is doggedly devoted to rescuing and rehoming Pit Bulls and bully mixes.

Critter– a playful Pit who also loves to cuddle– has been with Pitties. Love. Peace. for over a year, and is more than ready to be a MVP in the heart of a loving pet parent.

Leggio is just one of the animal-loving AHL members who has helped to promote the option of pet adoption through Strachan Strays. Fellow Hersey Bears players Mike Latta and Nate Schmidt have also co-starred in clips which featured adorable, adoptable Butler and Lena, also Pit Bulls who have received new leases on life thanks to Pitties. Love. Peace.
