One Picture Saves a Life Tour Heads to Louisiana SPCA

CasteelHelping potential pet parents picture an adorable, adoptable dog or cat in their life, Seth Casteel of Underwater Dogs fame and celebrity groomer Jorge Bendersky will welcome those with a passion for compassion to the One Picture Saves a Life workshop on June 28, 2014.

Taking place at the Louisiana SPCA, the day of dogged devotion for helping homeless pets will include tips for taming the manes of shelter canines by former star of Animal Planet’s Groomer Has It/celebrity dog stylist Jorge Bendersky, who will use tools provided by Wahl Clipper Corporation to show how good grooming techniques can turn a rover with unruly fur into a picture perfect pup.

Seventy-three percent of pet adoptions begin online, so a Fido or feline’s photo is their best chance at catching the attention of a possible adopter. Aiming to increase the awareness of a shelter animal by teaching others to aim their camera lens, New York Times Best-Selling Author Seth Casteel will explain how to snap a pet’s portrait in a way that will appeal to those looking to make a dog or cat a member of their fur family.

Free and open to both the public and shelter staff, the workshop at Louisiana SPCA is just one stop on One Picture Saves a Life’s multi-city tour.

When: June 28, 2014, with a public worship taking place from 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. and a workshop for shelter employees and volunteers from 12:30 p.m. – 4 p.m.

Where: Louisiana SPCA at 1700 Mardi Gras Avenue in New Orleans, Louisiana
