Biz Markie, who rose to the top of the Billboard charts in 1989 with his catchy, comedic classic “Just a Friend,” will raise the roof to help those who woof as he acts as the DJ and performer at the fourth annual Beer for Beasts Fundraiser.
The Clown Prince of Hip Hop will spin tunes at both the day and night sessions of the ‘spirit’ed soiree, which is presented by Beer Advocate and Sixpoint Brewery at The Bell House in Brooklyn. For the price of a ticket beverage buffs can drink a toast to a better tomorrow for New York City’s homeless dogs and cats during and event which will feature dozens of unique drinks that can only be enjoyed at the fundraiser.
Along with sampling suds, foodies can nibble tasty treats from Down Under Bakery (DUB), Calexico taqueria, Pizza Moto, Melt Bakery, Morris Truck and Rick’s Picks.
A ‘hop’pening with heart, all of the proceeds from Beer for Beasts (which has raised close to $100,000 for the paws cause since its start in 2011) will benefit The Humane Society of New York, which helps more than 30,000 homeless companion animals each year.
