Talking Turkey

This post isn’t really dog-related, except in the sense of loving all things furry and feathered. I was making dinner last night when I looked out the front windows…and there was a visitor in the front yard!

This wild turkey had flown over our four-foot fence and decided to take a stroll in the yard. She decided she’d have a look around the yard…

We live in the country so it’s not unusual for us to hear turkeys in the woods surrounding our house…and we see them on occasion on our dog walks…but never in the front yard!

She stayed about 15 minutes, pecked around a little bit, stretched her wings…

…and then off she flew, making a big hop over the fence and flying back off into the woods. All the while, thankfully the dogs were sound asleep indoors!
