We had a great time this weekend attending the Reliant Park World Series of Dog Shows in Houston. This is truly a Texas-sized dog show…we spent seven or eight hours at the show and never saw the same thing twice! The show is held at the Reliant Center, which is in the same complex as the old Astrodome and the new Reliant Stadium. Including breed competitions, agility, flyball, obedience, an art show, and a huge marketplace, the show is one of the largest in the country.

We especially loved the Meet the Breed section where we met a Papillon:

…and I met my first Portuguese Podengo, the national dog of Portugal (this is the Pequeno size):

…but then, of course, I had to meet the Medio and Grande sizes!

I loved the jumbo marketplace which featured all the great new products for dogs, the exciting agility and flyball competitions, and the many, many beautiful dogs in the breed competition like this Vizsla (who reminded me of our Irie!)

But I really loved the adoption sections of the show. There so many rescues on site with great dogs looking for their forever homes!

Here’s a quick video of some of the sights we took in at the show!
