This week is shaping up to be a busy week here at DogTipper! We’ve been doing several interviews and have some great video coming up along with a radio interview and more.
Just this morning, Paris interviewed Dr. Ernie Ward (photo, right), a veterinarian who is a regular guest on the Rachael Ray Show, Today, and others. Dr. Ward was standing on the banks of the flooded Mississippi River for this video satellite interview, and we talked about the importance of heartworm preventatives for your dogs (and cats) and how the heavy rains in many parts of the country have increased the danger to our pets. We’ll have that video for you in just a few days.
On Wednesday, Paris will be a guest on “Courage Cocktail,” a radio show hosted by Lee Anne McClymont. This radio show airs on WCOM FM 103.5 in North Carolina and also streams online. The broadcast will be at 1pm EDT on Wednesday, June 29. This week’s show is a special program about dogs and Victoria Stilwell of Animal Planet’s “It’s Me or the Dog!” will also be a guest. Paris talked about saving money on your dog care and also provided tips for adopting a new dog after the death of a dog in your family.
Wednesday is also the last day for nominations for a Pettie, the special awards for pet blogs. We would love to be nominated for a Pettie for Best Social Integration Blog if you can; nomination only takes a moment!
Thursday marks the last day to vote to see which animal rescue or shelter nominated by DogTipper readers will receive a $1,000 donation from Pedigree! Be sure to cast your vote! So far, 1,114,222 votes have been cast! Also, Thursday marks the last day of Pedigree’s #everydogdeserves campaign where you can earn food for homeless dogs with your tweets and Facebook posts…find out how!
Friday marks the start of the July 4th weekend and we hope everyone will have a happy and safe holiday. We’ll be running tips on helping your dog cope with fireworks. Remember, the 4th of July is one of the top times of the year when dogs are lost due to fright from fireworks noises so please keep your dog indoors and keep a collar and ID on him just in case he should bolt from the house. Dr. Marty Becker is making a special video for DogTipper with more tips for this holiday weekend and we’ll be bringing it to you later this week.
Don’t forget our enter our giveaways: the flower essences from Arenus, an Up Country dog lead, and an Up Country cat collar. And the photo contest for the Arabella & Fern dog bed is now in its voting stage over on Facebook!
Have a great week!
