Aug. 22: The Week Ahead

It’s already Monday evening and I’m just now getting around to doing the weekly roundup I try to post every Sunday…I have been running this week! (OK, not literally…and my ears haven’t been flapping like Irie’s…but I have been rushing around…)
This week is BlogPaws, the conference for pet bloggers! We’re so excited to see our fellow bloggers and friends at this conference being held just outside Washington, DC. We’ve got two days of sessions on all kinds of blogging topics, from search engine optimization to running giveaways, plus the chance to meet many brands that will be unveiling new products. We’ll also be attending the first press screening of Spooky Buddies, a fun Halloween movie in the “Buddies” line of dog movies.
At BlogPaws, we’re honored that Dogtipper will be sponsored by Pedigree (you’ll remember that last year DogTipper was sponsored by their sister company, Cesar). We’ll be helping Pedigree promote a special “Write a Post, Help a Dog” initiative by the Pedigree Foundation. We’ll bring you all the details on this during the week about how blogs and social media can help feed shelter dogs!
Along with bringing you all the news from the pet blogging world, we’ve got a BIG batch of giveaways this week so stay tuned! This is the most giveaways we’ve ever scheduled in a single week and we’re excited to feature some great prizes.
Right now I’m about to make some flat pets. I had 11×14-inch posters made of Irie, Tiki, and our cat Inca (she’s going to have to represent the cat crew…I didn’t think I could make SIX flat pets in time!) Bev from My Flat Pet is going to have a flat pet making session at BlogPaws and if I don’t get these made in time, I’m packing up my foam boards and photos and heading to that. I wanted to be able to take the flat pets to the airport and take some photos there, though, so I’m really hoping to get them made before the trip. (If I’m late to BlogPaws, that means TSA did not think the flat pets were nearly as cute as I did…)
My dad is coming out to stay with all the “grandkids” while we’re gone so I know they’ll have a great time with him. And I’ve promised to bring home some special dog and cat goodies from BlogPaws for the whole pack. Watch for some fun giveaways after BlogPaws, too!
