Our Fun Day at Barktoberfest!

Share with fellow dog lovers!

Yesterday we had so much fun at the annual Barktoberfest, a fundraiser for the Central Texas SPCA. The event was held at Brushy Creek Lake Park, one of Irie and Tiki’s favorite local parks. We’d hoped to bring Irie and Tiki–but a cold front that blew in Friday night dropped our temperatures lower than they’ve been since mid-January…so Irie and Tiki stayed home, warm and cozy.

We had a large PawZaar booth, and it was so much fun to meet fellow pet lovers as they shopped our show specials.

In spite of the weather, the turnout was great, kicking off with a 5K run and then a walk…

Then it was time for the costume contest. We had fun seeing all the costumed dogs who ranged from small…

…to large…

And, it may have been Barktoberfest, but the cat love was well represented, too…

Curious George even made an appearance…

The event featured about 30 vendors, both tents and tables…

…as well as a large silent auction (someone came away with a FUREVER YOURS bracelet set that PawZaar donated)…

Thanks everyone who braved the cold and came out on Saturday to help the homeless pets of Central Texas!
