Fostering a Cat During the Holidays

The recent Hallmark Hall of Fame presentation A Dog Named Christmas (based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Greg Kincaid) drew a great deal of attention to the possibility of fostering a homeless dog over the holidays. But did you know the national program also includes cats?
The new Foster a Lonely Pet program showcases local animal shelters and rescue groups around the country that are hoping pet-friendly families will foster an animal over the holidays. Petfinder.com, CBS and Random House are joining Hallmark Hall of Fame to promote this effort.
You’ll want to talk with the shelter or rescue about their exact details of the fostering but basically the program gives you the chance to foster over the holiday period. One shelter gave the program a try last year and reported the the majority of the animals they lent out for fostering became permanent additions to their holiday homes.
