She’s a Hollywood icon known for her love of lions, leopards, lynxes and other exotic animals, but Tippi Hedren’s heart also belongs to the domesticated cousin of big cats. Hitchcock’s former leading lady recently took on the role of spokesperson for an Iams Home 4 The Holidays campaign PSA which puts a cat parent and his purring pal in the spotlight.
Through January 4, 2011, Iams– in partnership with the Helen Woodward Animal Center and 3,500 animal organizations around the world– is on a mission to find forever families for 1.5 million homeless pets. While the happiness of a home will offer sustenance for the soul for the fortunate Fidos and felines who are adopted, Iams will also be providing food for orphaned dogs and cats in animal shelters in need. For the duration of the campaign, for each purchase of specially marked packages of Iams dog or cat food, Iam will donate one bowl of food to a participating animal shelter. Fans of felines can also help Iams reach their goal of providing 5 million bowls of food by clicking the “like” button on Iams Facebook page, or on one of the videos or messages posted. For each “like’ or comment Iams will donate up to 100 meals for homeless pets.
