A Poodle for Obama?

The votes are in…and Americans are choosing the Poodle as the “best breed for the Obamas” in an election held by the American Kennel Club’s www.presidentialpup.com poll.
Over 42,000 dog lovers cast their vote over the seven week poll which was launched after reports that — win or lose — the Obamas promised their two daughters a dog after the presidential election. The Poodle clinched the nomination after the breed battled it out with the Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier.
The Miniature Schnauzer, Bichon Frise, and Chinese Crested were also nominated. The Obamas have a daughter with allergies so a hypoallergenic breed with a consistent and predictable coat was crucial.
This may be the first dog for the Obama family but Republican nominee John McCain is ahead of the pack with 24 pets, including four dogs.
