Will Smith with His "I Am Legend" Co-Star

Deciding to ignore the old Hollywood adage that actors should never work with children or animals, movie icon Will Smith happily shared the screen with Abbey, a three-year-old German Shepherd, in the 2007 blockbuster I Am Legend. Rescued from a kennel, the female Fido had a three week crash course in acting before stepping in front of the camera in the role of Sam.
The Oscar-nominated star had an easy rapport with his canine co-star, due in part to the fact that Smith and his wife, actress Jada Pinkett Smith, are the proud parents of several Rottweilers.
