Dog lovers tuning in to the Rachael Ray Show on January 13th watched as the pedigree mystery of Bernadette Peters’ marvelous mutt Kramer was revealed with the help of the Wisdom Panel Mixed Breed Analysis Kit. The entertainer’s tail-wagging pal is 50% Golden Retriever, 25% Chow Chow and 25% undetermined breeds.
Ever since their adoptions from a New York City shelter years ago, Peters’ two pooches have been sources of both love and inspiration. Her Pit Bull Stella will soon star in a children’s book, a feat already accomplished by Kramer, who was the muse behind Broadway Barks, a book which bears the name of the annual adoption event co-founded by Ms. Peters and TV icon Mary Tyler Moore.
Broadway Barks celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2008. The following photo shows Bernadette Peters and Mary Tyler Moore at the event in 2004 along with Spinky and Evie, two dogs hoping to find forever homes.
