Presently fighting the battle of his life, actor Patrick Swayze has a number of furry friends on his ranch which help to lift his spirits. The retreat near Los Angeles which the star shares with Lisa Niemi, his wife of 33 years, is home to an array of Egyptian Arabian horses, cats and dogs.
Ignoring the old Hollywood adage that an actor should never work with children or animals, some of Swayze’s most rewarding acting experiences have included four-legged co-stars. The actor once named Mikey, the horse in the 1995 adventure/western Tall Tale, as his favorite acting buddy. That same year the talented thespian also shared the screen with a Podengo who played Betty Jane, the canine companion of Swayze’s character in the drama Three Wishes.
The following flashback photos shows the Dirty Dancing movie icon with a dog named Jack, who posed for posterity with the star in 2007 at the L.A. eatery Koi.
